GitOps Workflow
Sets up GitOps delivery for Kubernetes with ArgoCD or Flux and auto-sync.
Installation
- Make sure Claude is on your device and in your terminal.
Skills load from
~/.claude/skills/when Claude Code starts up — so you need it on your machine first. If you don't have it yet, install it once with the command below, then runclaudein any terminal to verify.One-time setupnpm i -g @anthropic-ai/claude-codeAlready have it? Skip ahead.
- Paste into Claude Code or into your terminal.
This copies the whole skill folder into
~/.claude/skills/gitops-workflow-wshobson/— the SKILL.md plus any scripts, reference docs, or templates the skill ships with. Safe default: works for every skill.Faster alternative (instruction-only skills)
Skips the clone and grabs only the SKILL.md file. Don't use this if the skill ships Python scripts, reference markdowns, or asset templates — they won't be downloaded and the skill will fail when it tries to load them.
Quick install (SKILL.md only)Sign up to copy - Restart Claude Code.
Quit and reopen Claude Code (or any other agent that loads from
~/.claude/skills/). New skills are picked up on startup. - Just ask Claude.
Skills auto-activate when your request matches the skill's description — no slash command needed. Trigger phrases live in the skill's own frontmatter; you can read them in the “What this skill does” section above.

When Claude uses it
Teaches Claude to implement Git-based continuous delivery for Kubernetes using ArgoCD or Flux CD, following the OpenGitOps principles of declarative, versioned, pulled, and continuously reconciled state. It supplies installation steps, a standard gitops-repo layout, ready-to-edit Application/Kustomization manifests, and auto-sync policies with prune and self-heal. Reach for it when bootstrapping GitOps on a cluster, wiring the App-of-Apps pattern, adding canary or blue-green rollouts, or keeping secrets out of Git with External Secrets or Sealed Secrets.
What this skill does
What it does: Gives Claude reference patterns and templates for running declarative, Git-driven deployments to Kubernetes via ArgoCD or Flux CD.
- Walks through installing ArgoCD (namespace, manifest apply, admin password retrieval) and bootstrapping Flux against a GitHub repo, plus a recommended
gitops-repo/directory structure for apps, infrastructure, and ArgoCD config. - Provides copy-ready ArgoCD
Applicationmanifests, the App-of-Apps pattern, and FluxGitRepositoryplusKustomizationresources to pull and reconcile state from Git. - Documents auto-sync policies for both tools — prune, self-heal, retry with backoff (ArgoCD) and interval, prune, wait, timeout (Flux).
- Covers progressive delivery with Argo Rollouts canary steps and blue-green strategies, plus secret management via External Secrets Operator and Sealed Secrets (
kubeseal). - Includes a ten-point best-practices checklist (env separation, RBAC, approval gates, release tagging) and
argocdCLI troubleshooting for sync failures and out-of-sync drift.
