Execution Block Diagnosis

Diagnose why you know what to do but can't take action using psychology.

Installation

  1. Make sure Claude is on your device and in your terminal.

Skills load from ~/.claude/skills/ when Claude Code starts up — so you need it on your machine first. If you don't have it yet, install it once with the command below, then run claude in any terminal to verify.

    One-time setup
    npm i -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code

    Already have it? Skip ahead.

  2. Paste into Claude Code or into your terminal.

This copies the whole skill folder into ~/.claude/skills/dbs-action-dontbesilent2025/ — the SKILL.md plus any scripts, reference docs, or templates the skill ships with. Safe default: works for every skill.

    Faster alternative (instruction-only skills)

Skips the clone and grabs only the SKILL.md file. Don't use this if the skill ships Python scripts, reference markdowns, or asset templates — they won't be downloaded and the skill will fail when it tries to load them.

    Quick install (SKILL.md only)
    Sign up to copy
  3. Restart Claude Code.

Quit and reopen Claude Code (or any other agent that loads from ~/.claude/skills/). New skills are picked up on startup.

  4. Just ask Claude.

Skills auto-activate when your request matches the skill's description — no slash command needed. Trigger phrases live in the skill's own frontmatter; you can read them in the “What this skill does” section above.

When Claude uses it

Use when you know what to do but cannot start — diagnoses the execution block with psychology-based questions and gives you a way to move.

What this skill does

This skill diagnoses why you know what to do but cannot take action, using psychology—specifically Adlerian individual psychology. It is a diagnostic tool, not a motivational one. It identifies the real psychological barriers behind procrastination and execution blocks, then offers a concrete path forward.

What it does

  • Listens first. Asks you where you're stuck and lets you explain fully before diagnosing.
  • Identifies six signal patterns that reveal the true block: execution simulator (treating planning as action), thought masturbation (endless thinking without starting), direction jumping (frequent pivots to avoid depth), knowledge addiction (learning as a substitute for doing), perfectionism (high standards as fear of judgment), and compelled narrative (blaming external forces).
  • Applies Adlerian psychology. Traces procrastination to underlying shame or self-doubt—the fear that execution without results will expose your real limits.
  • Delivers a diagnosis report that names your actual problem, not your stated one, and explains what you're really avoiding.
  • Offers a concrete solution. Not motivation, but Adler's method: help someone else with what you know, gain confidence from their feedback, and use that momentum to start your own action.

How to use it

Describe what you're stuck on—be specific. The skill will listen, spot the psychological pattern in your words, and show you the real reason you're not moving. It works in your language and ends with one sharp sentence that cuts through the noise.

Note: this skill's internal instructions are written in Chinese. Claude reads them natively and will work with you in English.
